JACKSON, MS. (THECOUNT) — Eric Gilmer has been identified as the Mississippi man killed in a stabbing Thursday morning at Trails At Northpointe Apartments, Northpointe Parkway, Jackson, MS.
Officers have not yet officially named Gilmer, but indicated the victim was a black man, about 26 years old. The description matches that of Gilmer given by family members.

A woman, 23-24 years old, was detained at the scene as a person of interest. Police have not named her as a suspect.
Police said the stabbing occurred inside one of the apartments some time before 10am. source
Family members and friends took to the street near the apartment building late Thursday morning to remember the beloved man.
It’s not clear if anyone else was inside the apartment at the time of the stabbing.
