Honolulu police are saying an unnamed 38-year-old man “on F.B.I. radar,” was evaluated and released after they discovered an arsenal of weapons and ammunition in his Waikiki hotel room. A welfare check led police to the discovery of multiple weapons which were found to be locked and loaded.
The unidentified man was taken to an area hospital, but not in police custody, after being found in his hotel room in possession of several assault style guns, 18 knives, more than 800 rounds of ammunition and shotgun shells, along with bulletproof vests, camouflage uniforms, a mask, and psychiatric medications.

Police say they tracked the man down Thursday night after becoming aware of suspicious messages he posted online.
The man told police he brought all of the weapons and ammunition to the hotel room over the course of a few days.
Police did a check and found all of the guns were registered to the man.
According to the Honolulu Police Department, “the male was taken to a hospital for evaluation, where he remains. No charges have been filed at this time. HPD and FBI investigators are continuing to work on this case.” source
The weapons were confiscated.
HPD says no further information is being released at this time.
FBI officials confirmed that the hotel guest was already on their radar.
