The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has identified 27-year-old Alex Bradshaw as the man who drove his vehicle over four people killing three and gravely injuring the fourth in Fountain Hills, AZ., Tuesday morning.
According to MCSO, the two couples, who were not acquainted, were mowed down while they were taking a walk.

Those killed in the crash were wife and husband Karen Bonta, 71, and Robert Bonta, 72, and Patti Doornbos, 60. Doornbos’ 60-year-old husband, Ronald, is in the ICU in critical condition. He sustained a traumatic head injury that has required multiple emergency surgeries. source
The Bontas are from Fort Madison, Iowa and the Doornbos are from Canada.
The two women were pronounced dead at the scene, MCSO said.
Bradshaw was headed north on Saguaro Boulevard when he veered off the road and hit the pedestrians on the corner of Saguaro and Palisades, MCSO said.
It’s not clear what caused the crash. An MCSO spokesperson said the driver stayed at the scene of the crash and showed no signs of DUI, but he could still face charges pending the outcome of the investigation.
