Sen. Bernie Sanders has confirmed on Twitter that the alleged shooter of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and several staffers, volunteered on his presidential campaign.
The suspect has been identified as 66-year-old James Hodgkinson from Belleville, Illinois.

A look at Hodgkinson’s Facebook profile reveals the suspect was highly critical of the Trump administration. His cover photo shows a picture of Senator Bernie Sanders. Senator Sanders was a Democratic candidate during the 2016 Presidential election.
Among the posts on Hodgkinson’s page, there’s one that stands out from March which says, “Trump is Traitor. Trump Has Destroyed Our Democracy. It’s Time to Destroy Trump & Co.”
