Alanis Morissette‘s ex-manager Jonathan Schwartz was sentenced to six years prison on Wednesday after admitting to embezzling funds belonging to the singer and “other clients.” Schwartz reportedly ripped off his clients to the tune of over $6.5 million.

Financial matters have not been historically kind to Morissette, her debut album, “Jagged Little Pill,” which she recorded in-full before securing a record deal, eventually sold over 16 million copies and included the smash hit song, “You Oughta Know.” The crooner is rumored to have signed one of the “worst record deals of all time,” making only pennies per sale.
