A real estate agent sent an angry anonymous letter to an elderly New Jersey couple, over their choice to park their car on their OWN front lawn.

The handwritten letter reads:

“I’m trying to sell million dollar homes in the neighborhood. I drive my clients around and they see your car parked sideways on the front lawn! You have a driveway — use it!”

The note was sent to Bill and Barbara Doughten, who have lived in their home for decades.

The couple’s granddaughter, Barbara Doughten, responded,  “Did you take a moment to wonder why my grandfather parks in that lot? Did it cross your mind that he may do it to be closer to his front door? Did you even take ONE second to consider your inconsiderate, ignorant actions before you scribbled your frustration on that piece of printer paper? I’m going to assume, not. Since you mailed it, with no return address — like only a true coward would.” source

Bill Doughten explained why he sometimes parks his Chevy sedan on his lawn. “I got a bad leg, I shake, and I’m an old man,” he told CBSPhilly.com.

“Why would you send a letter anonymously?” Bill said. “That shows the character.”

Barbara Doughten added, “There’s the door. Knock.”

She told NBC-Philadelphia that she and her husband don’t plan to alter their parking habits. “I can do whatever I want to do,” she said. “I’m not moving the car. I don’t know of any million-dollar homes in this neighborhood.”
