FAIRFIELD, OHIO. — A woman got more than she expected when she bit down on a razor blade that she says was inside her Chipotle burrito bowl.
Amanda Crain says she was biting into the food, when she bit into a razor blade and cut her mouth.

“I spit my food back out and realized I had bitten into a razor blade,” said Crain. “I had to run to the bathroom and had to soak up blood that was in the roof of my mouth. Needless to say I’m happy I didn’t swallow it but when I came back out of the bathroom the lady I worked with over and over again said, ‘you need to go tell them that there was a razor blade in your food.’”
Chipotle does in fact use razor knives to clean their grills so after filling out an incident report Chipotle offered her $100 as long as she would send the razor blade back to the company.
Crain says she isn’t after money and wasn’t hurt badly, but she had cuts on the roof of her mouth and she did go to the doctor. Crain is just unhappy with the company’s response.
“They contacted me. They wanted to give me a hundred dollars and pretty much have me to send back the razor blade that was in my food that I took home with me,” she said. “I took home all the documentation. But they wanted me to send that to them and basically never discuss it or talk about it again.”
