DES MOINES, IA. (THECOUNT) —Dody Boswell passed away early Saturday morning. Her age was not provided.

Boswell, a school teacher and the wife of the late Congressman Leonard Boswell, died in Des Moines after battling a prolonged illness.

We are learning Boswell was actually admitted to a hospital several days before the Congressman was also admitted.

The family has made the decision to celebrate both of their lives today at the previously planned funeral for Congressman Boswell. Dody shall also be buried today as well, according to the family in a statement to the media. source

Darlene “Dody” Boswell was born in Minnesota in 1935. She attended Graceland College in Lamoni. She fell in love and married Leonard Boswell. Together they raised three children Diana, Cindy, and Joe. They retired to Lamoni when Leonard Boswell retired his seat in Congress.
