Heroin Epidemic Forces School Nurses To Stock Antidote

The heroin epidemic is so out of control among teenagers that the nation’s schools have stocked a fast-acting overdose antidote to be administered by nurses and teachers in case of emergency.

School nurses are keeping the drug naloxone on hand as an essential part of their first-aid kits. If a student exhibit signs of heroin overdose they are administered naloxone via syringe or a nasal spray. The desired effect is to get an overdose patient breathing again.

Middle School Girls Ask: Are My Pants Lowering Your Test Scores?

Earlier this month, Haven Middle School administrators notified parents that female students are no longer allowed to wear shorts, leggings, or yoga pants because those articles of clothing might be “too distracting” for their male peers. That’s sparked a

protest among parents and students in the Evanston, Illinois area, who are arguing it’s not girls’ responsibility to accommodate the boys in their classes.

leggings-638x422More than 500 students have signed onto a petition protesting the new dress code policy, which they say is sexist because it’s only targeting girls’ clothing. Some female students have chosen to defy the ban and are wearing leggings and yoga pants to school in protest.

Jennifer Lawrence ‘Take That Bullies, I’m Famous Now!’

Jennifer Lawrence is admitting that she got bullied in school, and sure that sucks, but do you know what the best part is about getting harassed at school? The part where you one day get wildly famous! Now that’s some good old fashion payback… “I changed schools a lot when I was in elementary school because some girls were mean,” said Lawrence speaking to The Sun.

“They were less mean in middle school, because I was doing all right, although this one girl gave me invitations to hand out to her birthday party that I wasn’t invited to,” she says. “But that was fine, I just hocked a loogie on them and threw them in the trash can,” Jennifer adds of how she dealt with the situation.

Lawrence learned some important lessons back then like you can’t let the bullies dictate your self-worth.

“Don’t worry about the [B-word]s — that could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life, it’s hard for a young woman because typically the roles you’re offered are beautiful and [mean], ugly and nice or pretty and stupid. I’ve been lucky to stay away from that. I never play characters that are like me because I’m a boring person. I wouldn’t want to see me in a movie,” Lawrence says.
