After promising a “smooth transfer of power,” President Barack Obama broke tradition by refusing snap a photo with President-elect Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday.
The Obamas canceled a planned photo-op that would have featured the current and future first couples outside the south entrance of the White House. During their transition, Obama and first lady Michelle Obama posed for the cameras alongside President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush.
Mr. Trump and his wife, Melania, arrived at the White House around 11 a.m. The president and president-elect will meet in the Oval Office, while Mrs. Trump and first lady Michelle Obama tour the White House residence, where the Trump family will live. The decision not to participate in this tradition illustrates how bitter the campaign was, particularly for Mrs. Obama who delivered some of the most emotional arguments against electing Mr. Trump. As if today’s blockbuster news that Hillary Clinton is again under investigation by the FBI over her emails wasn’t enough, now it’s been uncovered that Bill and Hillary have been renovating a house they bought next to their Chappaqua residence without several required local permits, according to building department records.
“The homeowners have to sign the applications because it’s their property,” said Building Inspector William Maskiell. “If you own the house, you’re responsible on everything that goes on with that house.”

Terry McAuliffe, an influential Democrat with longstanding ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton, gave nearly $500,000 to the election campaign of the wife of an official at the Federal Bureau of Investigation who later helped oversee the investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s email use.
Campaign finance records show Mr. McAuliffe’s political-action committee donated $467,500 to the 2015 state Senate campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe, who is married to Andrew McCabe, now the deputy director of the FBI.

That adds up to slightly more than $675,000 to her candidacy from entities either directly under Mr. McAuliffe’s control or strongly influenced by him. Continue reading
The FBI released more documents on their investigation into Hillary Clinton‘s emails that lay out a series of allegations that could prove detrimental to Democratic presidential nominee. The documents included what some are saying is shocking proof that a “shadow government” does indeed exist.
Included in the papers are claims that Clinton “blatantly” disregarded standard protocol and that a group of high ranking State Department employees attempted a coordinated document dump, and asked for a “quid pro quo” related to the former secretary of state’s emails.
The documents, part four of four to be released by the FBI, include notes and interview summaries that may illuminate more about the bureau’s decision not to recommend Clinton be prosecuted for her actions. Many Republicans have criticized that decision, but FBI Director James Comey has repeatedly insisted the move was apolitical. Continue reading
