6-year-old boy, Jacob Hall has died days after he was shot while attending Townville Elementary School in South Carolina, a coroner said.
Coroner Greg Shore, of Anderson County said Hall died about 1 p.m. Saturday. Jacob had been on life support at a hospital since the shooting Wednesday. A bullet struck him in a main artery in his leg, causing him to lose most of his blood.
Authorities say another student and a first-grade teacher were also shot when a 14-year-old boy opened fire on a playground. They were treated and released. Continue reading

EMS and LifeFlight are reportedly responding to the scene.

Colorado woman, Chelsey Russell, died Tuesday while saving her young son from drowning by holding him above water long enough for the toddler to be saved.
Russell, 33, drowned in the Hall’s Crossing area of Lake Powell in Utah, her baby lived.
Russell was on a houseboat when her toddler went overboard. She jumped in the water to help him; neither of the two were wearing life jackets. Continue reading
Caleb Schwab, the 10-year-old boy who died on the Verrückt water slide at Schlitterbahn in Kansas City on Sunday, was grouped with two adult women. Caleb died after being decapitated towards the end of the ride.
Caleb, the son of Michele and Scott Schwab, a Kansas representative, was enjoying the park with his family after attending church services.
Caleb was grouped with two adult women on the Verrückt water slide around 2:30 p.m. One of the women suffered a broken jaw, and the other a broken bone in her face and had to have stitches in her eye, according to WDAF. Continue reading
Korryn Gaines is a Maryland woman who was shot dead by Baltimore County Police. Her 5-year-old son was also shot and wounded during a shootout. Gaines was involved in an hours-long standoff with police.
Gaines, 23, of Randallstown, was pronounced dead after being shot in the head. Her young son suffered non-life-threatening injuries. It is not yet known if the boy was shot by officers or by Gaines, according to police.
Police said Gaines was armed with a “long gun” and exchanged fire with officers after several hours of negotiations. Gaines was wanted on failure to appear warrants for an “array of traffic charges” stemming from a March 2016 traffic stop. Continue reading
James Wesley Howell, an Indiana man stopped in his vehicle in Santa Monica, Ca., was found with an arsenal of assault rifles, ammunition and explosives and told police he ‘wanted to harm’ people at the Los Angeles Pride festival.
Howell, 20, was taken into custody after local residents informed police around 5am that a man was loitering around and knocking on random doors. Howell’s arrest came on the same morning the country was rocked with the worst mass shooting in US history, at a gay club in Orlando where 50 people were shot.
When investigators searched his vehicle, they found three rifles, a substantial amount of ammunition and 5lb of mixed Tannerite powder, which can be used to make a pipe bomb. Continue reading
A wealthy and well known Santa Barbara, California, herbalist, Dr. Weidong “Henry” Han, was found dead along with his wife and 5-year-old daughter, apparently murdered by his business partner, Pierre Haobsh, who was since arrested and charged in the horrific crime.
Haobsh, 27, of Oceanside, was taken into custody at a San Diego gas station, after authorities issued an arrest warrant for his red Lexus. Police said they found a handgun and some property belonging to one of victims in the car.
The bodies of Dr. Weidong “Henry” Han, his wife Huijie “Jenni” Yu, and the couple’s 5-year-old daughter were found shot, wrapped in plastic and duct-taped in the garage of their mult-million dollar Santa Barbara home, a statement from the sheriff said. Continue reading
The Calloway County, Ky., Sheriff’s Office is searching for mother, Jennifer Hicks, who disappeared on her way to check on her young daughter.
Hicks, 31, was last seen traveling east on highway 94 on Tuesday, February 9.
Deputies say Hicks left work around Noon to go check on her daughter. Her car was last seen around 12:45 p.m. heading east on highway 94 east. Continue reading
The sheriff’s office in Camden County, Missouri, alerted the FBI to a report of “Middle Eastern” men asking questions about a local dam.
Police said the incident took place around two weeks ago at a Golden Corral in Osage Beach.
A deputy was eating lunch and a wait staff told him that the men men were asking about Bagnell Dam, wondering if they could rent a boat and tour it. The dam is considered a legitimate tourist attraction, with people from around the world coming to see it, Lake News noted. Continue reading
A Florida man secretly wore a body cam to record his wife’s pattern of abuse, that included her striking him, without warning, in the testicles.
Michael Novak, 37, recorded his wife, Corinne Novak, 37, striking him as he was trying to unbuckle their twin 2-year-olds from a car seat. After hitting her husband, Corrinne can be heard on the video saying “go ahead call police, I’ll gonna tell them you just assaulted me.”
As he bends over, water bottle in one hand, the camera records a flash of what appears to be a hand grab his genitals from behind. Continue reading
