Entourage Movie Is Officially A HUGE FLOP

With the reviews in and more importantly, the box office receipts tallied, and the boys from Entourage might want to walk run crawl back to Queens after all.

“Entourage” — the story of four amigos who moved out to LA to make it big, only brought in a paltry $10.4 million landing it in a disappointing fourth place.

ENTOURAGE - 2015 FILM

“Entourage” ended up a real-life disaster, akin to “Medellín,” the huge flop movie starring Vinnie Chase on the show.

The NYPost had this explanation for the crash and burn box office:

“Entourage” had a wealth-centric worldview that seemed left over from the early 2000s. The movie begins with Vinnie and the boys partying on a giant yacht, and the wealth porn doesn’t stop until the credits roll.

Everyone drives fancy cars! Turtle lives in a stupid-nice mansion! Ari wears designer suits! Someone rides in a private jet! And a helicopter!

After the market crash of ’08 and the subsequent recession, obsessing over big-ticket items feels a little gross and dated.

Beside all that noise, the Entourage movie has only garnered a 30 percent thumbs up on Rotten Tomatoes.

Here is Reed’s Tammy review in its entirety,

TAMMY
(0/4 stars)

Written by: Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone
Directed by: Ben Falcone
Starring: Melissa McCarthy, Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates
Running time: 96 min.

The good news is that Tammy is not a crappy remake of the 1957 Tammy movie with Debbie Reynolds that spawned three sequels and a TV comedy series. The bad news is that this one is much worse. It’s a desperate and brainless vehicle for Melissa McCarthy, which she wrote herself, with her husband, Ben Falcone, who also directed, with all the efficiency and verve of an abandoned Volkswagen on the Jersey Turnpike.
