BOONE COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Cassandra Simmerman, of Madison, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday fatal vehicle crash in Boone County.
Simmerman, 30, was killed, and another woman was injured, near Centralia on Tuesday.
According to reports, a dump truck blew a tire while traveling on Highway 22 near Angell School Road in Boone County before coming into contact with a Nissan Maxima on Tuesday.
Simmerman, a passenger in the Nissan, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, 24-year-old Rachael Hultz, of Clarence, Missouri, was transported to an area hospital with serious unknown injuries.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
