Hicks passed away at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica following complications after a routine hernia operation.

Interstate 15 is closed after the Blue Cut Fire ravaged the popular Las Vegas bound route. The blaze has shuttered the most direct route between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, but where there’s a will to party, there a way.
Fortunately, Interstate 15 is not the only way to get your Vegas fix, other less-traveled routes exist for motorists who absolutely have to get there. The following routes detail Nevada to California routes, however, if you’re traveling from So Cal to Vegas, simply reverse the route.
The route to take is dependent on the final destination. The most recent report from the California Department of Transportation is that I-15 is closed from Phelan Road in Hesperia to the freeway interchange of Interstate 215 in San Bernardino, a distance of about 18 miles. Continue reading
Criminal Minds lead actor, Thomas Gibson, has been fired after an on-set altercation with a producer.
Gibson, 54, has played the fan-favorite Aaron Hotchner since the show’s inception, but now is suddenly seeking other employment after reportedly kicking a writer..

James Wesley Howell, an Indiana man stopped in his vehicle in Santa Monica, Ca., was found with an arsenal of assault rifles, ammunition and explosives and told police he ‘wanted to harm’ people at the Los Angeles Pride festival.
Howell, 20, was taken into custody after local residents informed police around 5am that a man was loitering around and knocking on random doors. Howell’s arrest came on the same morning the country was rocked with the worst mass shooting in US history, at a gay club in Orlando where 50 people were shot.
When investigators searched his vehicle, they found three rifles, a substantial amount of ammunition and 5lb of mixed Tannerite powder, which can be used to make a pipe bomb. Continue reading
A wealthy and well known Santa Barbara, California, herbalist, Dr. Weidong “Henry” Han, was found dead along with his wife and 5-year-old daughter, apparently murdered by his business partner, Pierre Haobsh, who was since arrested and charged in the horrific crime.
Haobsh, 27, of Oceanside, was taken into custody at a San Diego gas station, after authorities issued an arrest warrant for his red Lexus. Police said they found a handgun and some property belonging to one of victims in the car.
The bodies of Dr. Weidong “Henry” Han, his wife Huijie “Jenni” Yu, and the couple’s 5-year-old daughter were found shot, wrapped in plastic and duct-taped in the garage of their mult-million dollar Santa Barbara home, a statement from the sheriff said. Continue reading
A construction worker is dead after falling from the Wilshire Grand Tower in downtown L.A. early Thursday afternoon. The man landed on a passing vehicle.
The accident occurred in the 600 block of Figueroa Street about 12:36 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department stated in an alert.
Based on aerial and ground video and photographs, the worker appeared to have fallen from the Wilshire Grand Tower, which is located not far from the fall site. The high-rise structure, when completed, will overtake the U.S. Bank Tower as the tallest skyscraper west of the Mississippi River. Continue reading
New surveillance video from The Standard shows a suspect wanted in connection with a weekend shooting at posh Downtown Los Angeles hotel.
The shooting left one person dead and three others wounded.
Police first received a call about a fight at the hotel located at 550 S. Flower Street at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. Continue reading
Hotel of the elite, The Standard, in downtown Los Angeles, was the scene of a shooting that left one dead and three injured.
Authorities say, four people were shot, one fatally, early Sunday morning at a spot normally where the rich play and stay. As of now, no one is in custody, but police hope security video and witness statements will help in identifying the suspect or suspects.
The shooting took place about 2:40 a.m. at the upscale hotel in the 500 block of South Flower Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police initially said three people were shot. Two of the victims were found at the scene; a third victim was located at the nearby intersection of West Olympic Boulevard and South Hill Street, a spokesman for the LAPD’s Central Division said. h/t ktla
