ST. CLAIR COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Keith VanNess, of Breese, Illinois, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday morning fatal vehicle crash in St. Clair County.
VanNess, 60, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near O’Fallon Thursday morning.
According to reports, VanNess was operating a vehicle on US-50 between O’Fallon and Lebanon, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 6:40 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle then sideswiped another vehicles which caused both vehicle to exit the roadway and crash.
VanNess was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
The other involved driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
