Creasy played for legendary Colbert County coach C.T. Manley and was an all-state performer and also played for North Alabama (then Florence State), where he was a three-time letterman and named the most valuable lineman in 1964, according to the Alabama High School Football Historical Society website, reports AL.com.

Creasy compiled a 186-76-2 record in 23 seasons. He coached two state championship teams at Colbert County in 1979 and 1985 and played for two more titles. Creasy was selected to the Hall of Fame in 1998.

Creasy started his head coaching career at Central-Florence then took over for Manley at Colbert County for 12 years before coaching two years at Coffee and finishing his career with four seasons at Mountain Brook.

Tuscumbia Mayor Kerry Underwood played under Creasy in 1983 and 1984 at Colbert County.

“It’s a sad day for so many of coach Creasy’s players,” Underwood told Shoals Insider. “We share a unique bond that will always be centered around the man who demanded excellence in every game, every practice, and every play. We are all better men because of his influence. He will be greatly missed.”
