CA Man George Habeeb ID’d As Driver In Sunday Rosewood Fatal BMW Crash

ROSEVILLE, CALIF. (THECOUNT) — George Habeeb has been identified as the victim in a fatal two-vehicle crash Sunday night in Roseville, according to authorities. Habeeb was 47.

The deadly collision occurred along Baseline Road near Canyon Creek Drive in Roseville, located in western Placer County northeast of Sacramento.

Officers with the Roseville Police Department responded to the scene Sunday night following reports of a serious crash involving a BMW and a white van.

According to investigators, a BMW was traveling westbound on Baseline Road when a white van entered the roadway from Canyon Creek Drive.

Authorities said the vehicles subsequently collided.

The driver of the van, later identified by the Placer County Coroner as Habeeb, sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

Habeeb was pronounced dead as a result of injuries suffered in the collision.

Officials have not publicly released additional information regarding the extent of injuries suffered by the driver of the BMW.

Roseville Police stated the BMW driver was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

The department has not announced whether impairment involving any other party is suspected.

Investigators also have not publicly released details regarding which vehicle may have had the right-of-way at the time of the collision.

No additional passengers or injuries were immediately reported by authorities.

The crash occurred along the Baseline Road corridor near Canyon Creek Drive, an area of expanding residential and commercial development in western Roseville.

Baseline Road serves as a major east-west connector through portions of Placer County and carries regular commuter and local traffic throughout the region.

Emergency personnel remained at the scene Sunday night while investigators documented evidence, examined the damaged vehicles, and coordinated roadway operations in the area.

Traffic near the intersection was impacted for a period of time during the on-scene investigation.

Authorities have not publicly released additional details regarding the speed of either vehicle prior to the collision.

Investigators also have not announced whether weather, lighting conditions, or roadway conditions may have contributed to the crash.

The Roseville Police Department continues to investigate the fatal collision.
