GREENBRIER, TN. (THECOUNT) — Melissa Dawn Mayes, of Greenbrier, Tennessee, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle rollover crash Sunday evening in Robertson County.
Mayes, 40, was riding as a passenger in a Saturn sedan driven by John Landon Hindsley, when it was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Greenbrier Sunday evening.
According to reports, Hindsley, 32, was operating a vehicle on Logan Road, in Greenbrier, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway Sunday around 7 p.m. The vehicle then entered a yard and rolled over multiple times before coming to a rest near a residence.
Hindsley, who was ejected from the vehicle, survived the crash and was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Mayes, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
According to the THP’s preliminary report, Hindsley is facing unspecified “pending” charges relating to the crash, reports SmokeyBarn.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
