Marshall Fundaburk has been identified as the man critically injured in a freak accident while walking along Lillian Highway, Pensacola, FL., Saturday night.
Fundaburk, 28, was struck by a kayak that went airborne after becoming dislodged from its harness while traveling atop a passing vehicle. The vehicle has not been located and may not have been aware the watercraft had fallen off at the time.
A kayak fell from a unidentified vehicle that traveling east on Lillian Highway. The kayak struck the paved shoulder and then made contact with Mr. Fundaburk causing serious injuries. The vehicle did not stop and continued traveling east on Lillian Highway. source
The report says the victim was taken to Baptist Hospital with critical injuries. No vehicle description was mentioned in the report.
