The Petersburg Police Department are investigating a man found found shot to death in the 3700 block of Westwood Drive, Petersburg, VA. as a homicide.
Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, however, a close friend of the family identified “Allan Humphries,” an employee at River City Recovery, as the man killed. The information was released in a GoFundMe page set up to cover Humphries’ funeral expenses.
TheCount.com has learned the victim may have been at the location in an attempt to repossess a vehicle garaged at the Petersburg residence.
Police arrived to the scene, which was near Lakewood Drive and South Crater Road, just after midnight. Police remained on the scene throughout the night.
The owner of River City Recovery says the victim was “non-confrontational” and his employees are trained to immediately leave a situation once a confrontation happens. He believes Thursday morning’s situation happened too quickly for the victim to leave. source
