Forbes is attempting to publicly shame acting legend, Robert De Niro in an effort to get him pull the pull on “Vaxxed,” a film about the possible link between vaccines and autism, slated to premier at his Tribeca Film Festival.

The Forbes hit piece, titled, “Robert DeNiro [sic] Just Broke My Heart,” claims De Niro has “destroyed his legacy by choosing to feature a film that will only bring great harm to millions of families, a film that harms public understanding of autism and autistic people by misleading the public about vaccines.”

Robert DeNiro autistic

As long as I can remember, I have loved Robert DeNiro. Certainly, most of his films weren’t appropriate for me to watch as a child, but my dad enjoyed his films and I’d therefore often see him on TV even before I came to appreciate his movies on my own. Continue reading

Having debuted at the Hong Kong International Film Festival and screened at an additional 53 film festivals around the world, “Shabbat Dinner” is a complex exploration of a teen’s sexuality and Jewish culture. The success of the film has generated a social media campaign using the hashtag #WhenIToldThem and invites fans to take part by sharing their own coming out story.

“My biggest goal was to make a film for teens going through this kind of experience and tell them that they are not alone,” Morgenstern told The Huffington Post. “I’ve been inspired by the tremendous effect this sort of media has on society at large; when people understand and can laugh along with characters, their demographic becomes less threatening. I see the film as a conflict between two people struggling, through great difficulty, to be (and discover) who they are, and four people doing their best to avoid having to say or notice anything truthful.”

You Talking To Me? Robert De Niro Has A Real Communication Problem With Jay-Z

Robert De Niro and Jay-Z (of all people) are apparently involved in, what Page 6 is calling, a “tense beef.” It all went down at Leonardo DiCaprio‘s birthday bash the other night when De Niro apparently called Jay-Z out for not returning several of the award-winning actor’s phone calls.

Robert De Niro
and Jay-Z got into a tense beef at Leonardo DiCaprio’s birthday bash the other night, when De Niro called the rapper disrespectful, Page Six can exclusively reveal.

Spies say “Godfather II” and “Taxi Driver” star De Niro gave Jay a dressing-down in a roomful of celebs including Martin Scorsese because the rap mogul had refused to return De Niro’s calls.

Sources add that Jay tried to joke his way out of the situation, and even his wife, Beyoncé, tried to intervene, but De Niro wouldn’t back down.

“Bob was sitting at a table, and when Jay-Z went over to say hello, De Niro told Jay that he never called him back,” a source says.

A spy then overheard De Niro complaining to the rapper, a fellow TriBeCa resident, about a song Jay-Z agreed to record for the Tribeca Film Festival. De Niro had reached out to discuss further details, but Jay never returned his calls.

“Bob wasn’t in any mood to make polite conversation,” the spy says. “He told Jay that if somebody calls you six times, you call them back. It doesn’t matter who you are, that is just rude.”

When Jay-Z tried to make a joke of it, saying he is terrible on the phone, a source says, “De Niro kept telling him that he thinks he’s the man, but that he was disrespectful.’ ”

“Beyoncé came over, but that didn’t calm Bob down,” the source said, adding that afterward, “It was the talk of the party. Everyone was saying there’s only one star in New York bigger and badder than Jay-Z, and that’s Robert De Niro. He can be quite scary when he’s angry.”

But a source close to De Niro told us, “It was a low-key private conversation between two people that was apparently overheard. It was not a heated discussion.”

Ironically, Jay-Z paid homage to the Oscar winner in the second line of his 2009 hit “Empire State of Mind.” (“Yea I’m out that Brooklyn, now I’m down in Tribeca/Right next to De Niro, but I’ll be hood forever.”)

Iceland Volcano Clouds Stop the Stars

iceland volcano 300x225 Iceland Volcano Clouds Stop the Stars

Breitbart and Associated Press report:
A volcanic cloud of ash hovering over Europe is causing quite a scene in Hollywood and beyond.

The ash spat out by an Icelandic volcano that has left thousands of air travelers stranded is also affecting celebrities, filmmakers, musicians and even pro-wrestlers.

With almost two-thirds of Europe’s flights grounded, cancelations and postponements were popping up across the entertainment landscape on Saturday as Icelandic scientists warned that volcanic activity had increased and showed no sign of abating.

Organizers of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., tweeted that some acts were forced to pull out of the weekend event, including British rockers The Cribs and Bad Lieutenant, Scottish rockers Frightened Rabbit, and British dance trio Delphic. It also appears unlikely that British synth singer Gary Numan will make it to Coachella for his Sunday slot.

“The last thing I expected this morning when I woke up was to hear that volcanic ash might be preventing us from flying to America,” Numan posted on his Web site. “At the moment, the very best British Airways are offering us, and this without any guarantee, is to put us on a Sunday flight that gets into Los Angeles in the afternoon on Sunday.”

However, several performers from Europe scheduled to perform at Coachella were already across the Atlantic Ocean or had boarded planes before the volcanic cloud forced a rash of flight cancelations. Those included Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Gorillaz, Muse, Hot Chip, Fever Ray and Florence and the Machine.

Whitney Houston was forced to ditch a plane for a ferry across the Irish Sea to perform in Dublin. The R&B; diva, currently in the middle of her “Nothing But Love” world tour, opted for the not-so-glamourous boat ride after no-fly orders shut down airports across Europe. Houston is scheduled to perform the first of three shows Saturday at the O2 arena in London.

The ash cloud also grounded several other musicians in Europe. Welsh indie pop band Los Campesinos! canceled their Friday appearance at the Culture Shock Festival in Purchase, N.Y., as well as their Saturday concert in Hoboken, N.J. Pop singer Mika postponed his Friday concert in Lisbon, Portugal, after unexpectedly finding himself stranded in Paris.

“Volcano freak out,” he tweeted. “This is bad.”

The situation was also causing havoc for World Wrestling Entertainment, the professional wrestling organization nearing the end of a two-week European tour. Several wrestlers and crew members traveled for nearly 17 hours in buses and ferries to make it from Lieven, France, to Belfast, Ireland. The trip normally takes about an hour and a half in a plane.

WWE spokesman Kevin Hennessy said it was unclear if everyone would arrive in time for Monday night’s scheduled “WWE Raw” event at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J. He said the WWE wrestlers and crew normally “fly commercial, but we are booking a charter just to be safe.” Hennessy added that “Sunday is normally a simple travel day—very easy.”

Although scientists were indicating that travel chaos could extend into the new week, New York’s Tribeca Film Festival, which is set to begin Wednesday, had yet to receive any cancellations by late Friday. The festival will feature films from nearly 40 countries and several filmmakers from Europe had been planning to attend.

Worldwide press junkets for two of the summer season’s most anticipated films—”Iron Man 2,” starring Robert Downey Jr., and “Robin Hood,” starring Russell Crowe—also were still scheduled as planned next weekend in London, according to studio officials.

Some U.S. book publishing executives were forced to cancel plans to attend next week’s London Book Fair because of the disrupted air travel. But organizers said Friday the three-day gathering will proceed as scheduled.

Back in Hollywood, Saturday’s blue-carpet world premiere of Disneynature’s “Oceans,” at the El Capitan Theatre was already prepared to hit bumpy waters. The film’s French director, Jacques Cluzaud, and producers won’t be attending the debut of their Disney documentary narrated by Pierce Brosnan and starring underwater critters. They’re stuck overseas.

Tony Bennett Says “Kiss the Good Life Goodbye” to David Letterman at Las Vegas Hilton Concert

photo 3 300x225 Tony Bennett Says Kiss the Good Life Goodbye to David Letterman at Las Vegas Hilton Concert

Last night, we went to a Tony Bennett concert at the Las Vegas Hilton! I love Tony Bennett, but my Grandma loved him even more! I was the youngest person at the concert, but I might have been the most excited. I’m one of those emotional people who get so happy that they cry! I was searching for tissues in the dark! LOL!

Tony Bennett is such a big legend. He is the last player still performing from the era of the Frank Sinatra pack. Tony even mentioned that Frank Sinatra was his best friend in show business. Tony also mentioned that he doesn’t really like today’s music, he still likes to listen and sing music from the good old days. Tony was singing songs from the 1930’s! The old time songs are so interesting to me, they all last about 1 minute! Just when it sounds like the song has started, it’s already over! Hey, it keeps your attention I guess!

Tony sang a lot of his famous tunes like “I left my heart in San Francisco” and “The best is yet to come.” Tony then began to sing a song and he said, “this song is dedicated to David Letterman… it’s titled “Kiss the good life goodbye.”” (The name of that song is actually just “The good life” but the lyrics say, “kiss the good life goodbye.”) Everyone in the audience chuckled at Tony’s joke.

Soooo was Tony saying for David Letterman to ‘kiss the good life goodbye’? Was this a burn to Dave? A joke? Are they friends???

The concert was heartwarming and beautiful. We had a great time, but it would have been greater if Tony’s manager would have let us backstage for a picture and mini interview!!! Well, at least I got a picture with his poster! We love Tony anyway! Great show!

I wonder if Tony will make an appea
