HOLLYWOOD, CA. (THECOUNT) — Longtime actress, Marj Dusay, has passed away. She was 83.
Dusay launched her soap career in 1983 on CAPITOL, playing the role of Myrna Clegg through to the show’s 1987 cancellation.
A Kansas native, Dusay was also known for her roles on STAR TREK and THE FACTS OF LIFE.
From 1987-88 and again in 1991, Dusay appeared on SANTA BARBARA as Pamela Capwell Conrad. Her next daytime home was GUIDING LIGHT, where she succeeded Beverlee McKinsey as Alexandra Spaulding from 1993-97 and 1998-99. From 1999-2002, she played the role of villainous Vanessa Bennett, then was lured back to GL, where she remained from 2002-09, when the show went off the air, reports SoapOperaDigest on Wednesday.

The actor who played Ensign Chekov in the rebooted Star Trek, Anton Yelchin, died this morning in a “fatal traffic collision,” according to AP. He was 27.
Yelchin appeared in a number of roles over the years, but really hit his big break when he appeared as Chekov in the popular Star Trek series.

Star Trek‘s Sulu, aka George Takei, issued Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas an half-hearted apology after calling him a “clown in blackface,” during an interview.
Although Takei starts off his Facebook post with “I owe an apology,” He went on to explain why he was allowed to make the blatantly racist comments.

Meet Molly Kate Kestner, 18, singing on an up until now relatively unknown Youtube video, that is until George Takei, of ‘Star Trek’ fame, shared it with his 7 million Facebook fans.
The social media celeb posted a video of the Minnesota teen singing the emotional ballad and asked, ‘Has America found its young Adele?’ The song was Kestner’s solo at her senior choir recital. source
