A Florida woman filed a lawsuit after she says a deputy who tased her with a stun gun, apologized by sending her a cake that read, “Sorry I Tased You” in blue frosting.
The cake wasn’t a sweet enough gesture for Stephanie Byron who sued former Escambia County sheriff’s Deputy Michael Wohlers in May. A photo of the cake was posted to social media and since has been a constant object of mockery.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Pensacola, alleges Wohlers violated Byron’s civil rights, committed battery against her and caused her hardships, including physical injuries, monetary loss, medical expenses, humiliation and mental anguish. Wohlers’ attorney wouldn’t comment Thursday but denied the allegations in a court document. Continue reading
A judge just ruled that, Nick Gordon, step-brother and boyfriend of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown, is responsible for her death. The ruling came after Gordon failed to show up in court for a mandatory appearance Friday.
The hearing, which had been scheduled for 9:30am at Atlanta’s Fulton County Superior Court, was to hear motions on the wrongful death suit filed by the estate of Bobbi Kristina against Gordon. Judge T. Jackson Bedford, who was presiding over the case, said of the Gordon ruling: ‘I do not like people thumbing their nose at the court.’
Gordon, who had elected to represent himself in the trial, was not in attendance however, leading the judge to declare that all allegations made by Bobbi Kristina’s estate in the case would be admitted through omission. Continue reading

A federal judge just handed down a stunning ruling, saying NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart, is “fully responsible,” in the 2014 death of sprint car driver Kevin Ward Jr.
U.S. District Court Judge David Hurd declared that Stewart is now responsible for any and all costs stemming from damage, pain and suffering, legal costs, fees, and anything else that may or may not stem from a current civil lawsuit from Kevin Ward Jr.’s family.
The Ward family filed the lawsuit shortly after a grand jury declined to indict him on charges of second-degree manslaughter and others. Continue reading
Bobby Brown commented on Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s unsealed autopsy which showed the cause of death of his only daughter.
The report cited “drugs and drowning” as the cause of death which was revealed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office. The release came on what would have been Bobbi’s 23rd birthday.
“First and foremost, 23 years ago today, Bobbi Kristina was born,” Brown tells Us Weekly in his statement. “Krissy will always live in my heart and soul. I love my baby girl. For news affiliates to seek and obtain my daughter’s autopsy report, before anyone has been brought to justice for her death is mind blowing to me. Please pray for my family.” The singer’s lawyer Christopher Brown also added a statement of his own. “Yesterday we were informed that two news affiliates were granted access to the autopsy of Bobbi Kristina Brown. While this action is unsettling, we will continue in our efforts in the civil lawsuit and the criminal investigation,” Brown’s attorney tells Us. “Bobby Brown has had to be strong and mourn his loved ones in a fashion that is foreign to most people. So public, so raw, with apparently no end in sight. Hopefully public indictments and prosecution will lead to private healing and closure for Bobby Brown and his family.” h/t usmagazine
Fulton County Medical Examiner revealed that Bobbi died at age 22 from “Lobar pneumonia,” which was the result of “immersion of face in water complicating mixed drug intoxication.”
