IL Woman Sara Rhodes ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Milford Fatal Crash

IROQUOIS COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — A tragic crash in Iroquois County claimed the life of 64-year-old Sara Rhodes from Hoopeston on Wednesday.

Iroquois County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a collision between a car and a semi-truck at the intersection of County Road 2000 East and 1000 North in rural Milford just before 5 p.m.

According to deputies, Rhodes, driving the car, failed to stop at the marked intersection and collided with a westbound semi-truck driven by a 32-year-old Milford man. The impact sent both vehicles into a ditch on the southwest side of the intersection, causing the semi to overturn.

Rhodes was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi-truck driver sustained minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
