IBERIA PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Kelly John Duplantis Jr., of Delcambre, Louisiana, and John B. Young Jr., of New Iberia, Louisiana, have been identified as the victims in a Thursday evening double-fatal vehicle crash in Iberia Parish.
Duplantis, 45, and 54-year-old Young, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash in New Iberia Thursday evening.
According to reports, Young was operating a vehicle on Hwy 14 near Leleux Road in New Iberia, when he failed to yield at a posted stop sign around 4:45 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then came into contact with a vehicle operated by Duplantis.
Duplantis and Young were both pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
