JASPER COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Lauren Safley, of Joplin, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday vehicle crash in Jasper County.
Safley, 31, was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash involving a Joplin School District utility van Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, Safley was operating a vehicle in Joplin, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes Wednesday afternoon. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a utility van.
A passenger in Safley’s vehicle suffered unknown injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Safley was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
