ME Woman Anne Pomroy ID’d As Victim In Monday Stockton Springs Fatal Crash

STOCKTON SPRINGS, ME. (THECOUNT) — Anne Pomroy, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, has been identified as the victim in a fatal head-on crash in Stockton Springs, Maine, according to Maine State Police. Adam Sorrentino, 42, of Belfast, has been identified as the other involved driver.

Pomroy was 77. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to officials, the crash occurred Monday, April 13, 2026, at approximately 6:08 p.m. along U.S. Route 1 in Stockton Springs, a coastal town located in Waldo County.

Preliminary findings from the Maine State Police Central Field Troop indicate a truck operated by Sorrentino was traveling westbound when it collided with an eastbound Subaru Forester driven by Pomroy.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and located Pomroy with serious injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding personnel.

Sorrentino sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released additional details regarding his condition.

The crash occurred on a stretch of Route 1 that serves as a primary corridor through Stockton Springs and the surrounding midcoast region, connecting multiple communities along Maine’s coastline.

Maine State Police confirmed that the cause of the crash remains under active investigation. Officials have not released information regarding contributing factors, and no charges or citations have been announced at this time.
