JASPER, FL. (THECOUNT) — Ashton Mitchell, of Jennings, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Saturday night vehicle crash in Hamilton County, Florida.
Mitchell, 29, was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night near the U.S. Highway 129 in Jasper.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Mitchell was operating a Toyota Camry, when he attempted to perform a left-hand turn into the Loves Travel Stop parking lot, located at 11459 SW 61st Ave in Jasper. The Camry was then T-Boned by a semi-truck around 10:20 p.m.
Mitchell, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver of the big-rig, 49-year-old Antonio Pozo, and his female passenger, both of Hialeah, were uninjured in the crash.
According to officials, charges are pending FHP’s investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
