The incident occurred before 4 p.m. local time and shortly later the Houston Police Department confirmed on Twitter that an active shooter was not located at the mall.
Twitter user Valeria claims he was present during the incident saying the suspect jumped on a table in the food court and yelled threats to mall goers within earshot.
