CANDOR, NY. (THECOUNT) — Jeremy Taylor has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash in Tioga County, NY, on Monday.
Taylor, 41, was operating a motorcycle on Spencer Road in Candor, when for unknown reasons, he crossed centerlines and exited the roadway before 9:30 p.m Monday.
According to reports, Taylor was a New York was Correctional Officer in the New York State Prison System and a former member of the Elmira Heights Fire Department.
The Fire Department confirmed on their Facebook page that Taylor had been a member of the department, reports MyTwintiers.
A witness told police that a car traveling in the direction did not dim its high-beams, however, it is unknown if that caused Taylor to crash.
Taylor was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains open.
