A 10-year-old child has died this morning after being struck by a school bus in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the boy, who is a student at the school, tripped and fell in front of the bus just after 7:09 this morning on Crestwood Drive, Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
MSHP said the boy had missed the bus and was running to catch up when he tripped and ended up under the wheels. He said there were other students on the bus at the time. source
The boy was taken to an area hospital where he died just before 7:44 this morning.
Officers are still on the scene and Parrott says the road remains block as they investigate the situation.
