Police Officer Christopher Ryan Morton was named as the officer shot and killed in the line of duty on Tuesday night in Clinton, Missouri.
Clinton County 911 received a call from a home near South Orchard and West Ohio Street. 911 operators said two women were heard screaming in the background. When officers arrived to the home, they were shot at from inside the residence.
Two officers remain hospitalized, listed with minor and moderate injuries. Troop A said both officers were hit with gunfire while responding to call of a woman screaming. source
The officers engaged with the suspect, shortly after attempted to apprehend the suspect inside the home. At that point, one officer was killed and two others were shot.
