KS Couple Involved In Fatal Single-Vehicle Lyon County Crash

Trista LaShell Smith has been named as the woman killed a one-vehicle accident in Lyon County early Saturday morning. Dalton Johnson, who was the driver, was injured in the crash, according to police.

Lyon County Deputies say they were called to the 200 Block of Road 180 just before 3 a.m. Saturday on reports of an auto accident. Both, Smith and Johnson were transported by ambulance to Newman Regional Hospital for their injuries. Smith was later transported by helicopter to Stormont-Vail Hospital. Smith died from her injuries.

According to the investigation, a black 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was driving westbound, by Dalton Johnson, 28, of Chase County. He lost control of the vehicle and drove into the south ditch where he hit two trees and stopped against a third. source

Neither occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
