VIA: Pennsylvania State police shot and killed a person in a home in Lower Mount Bethel Township Saturday morning, Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said.
State police told Morganelli troopers were summoned by a resident of the home on Good Road and that the individual who was killed made a threat toward officers. At least one of the officers fired, killing the person, Morganelli said.
Numerous state police vehicles were at the home late Saturday morning and into the afternoon. Police in uniforms and plain clothes could be seen standing in the road outside the home, which is surrounded by horse pastures. Officials did not speak with reporters on the scene.
State police and emergency medical personnel were called to a report of a gunshot victim around 11 a.m. Saturday morning, according to a 911 dispatch.
