Shocking numbers coming out of Chicago as eight people were killed and at least 40 wounded in a weekend chock full of extreme violence. Sadly the number of dead or wounded is nothing new for the embattled area.
The ever rising numbers showed a thousand more people shot in the windy city then compared to last year. There have been at least 595 homicides this year compared with 409 this same time last year.
The gun violence over the weekend was at levels usually seen in the summer when shootings typically spike. At least 3,475 people had been shot in the city as of shortly after midnight Monday compared with 2,441 people shot this time last year, an increase of 1,034, according to Tribune data. In a badly needed moment of comic relief, Donald Trump hoisted his mini-me at a Pennsylvania rally on Monday night to the delight of thousands of supporters.
At the halfway mark of a campaign stop in Wilkes-Barre, Trump gleamed a toddler from the crowd who was dressed in a tiny suit sporting a “Vote” button. Of course the devineer little fella also sported a full head of combed over blonde locks. The impromptu moment was nothing short of a showstopper.
“Look at that guy over there!” Trump yelled and pointed. “Wow! A baby!” He then made his way through the crowd, plucked the one-year-old from his parents and tucked him under his arm like a football on his way back to the podium. Continue reading

Protesters took to the streets of Fountain Hills in Arizona on Saturday block morning traffic to the Donald Trump rally.
News helicopters showed protesters blocking Shea Boulevard with a several Maricopa County Sheriff Deputies on scene.
A tow truck was able to move two vehicles but the protesters remained. At one point, a jeep plowed into the protesters. Continue reading
Former St. Louis Rams running back, Lawrence Phillips, was found dead in his cell at Kern Valley State Prison. He was 40.
Early reports say the former NFL player committed suicide.
Phillips was convicted of choking his girlfriend and later of driving his car into three teens after a pickup football game. Continue reading
Belichick surprised reporters by displaying what appeared to be a painful shiner on his left eye, but declined to reveal exactly how the injury occurred, only commenting, ‘I think I’ll live.’

The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that Andrew Luck will miss two to six weeks over suffering a lacerated kidney and a partial tear of an abdominal muscle early in the fourth quarter against the Broncos. A game he went on to win.
The team says Luck’s injuries do not require surgery. Earlier in the season, Luck suffered a shoulder injury.

Six people are dead and another seven are missing after a freak flash flood washed away their vehicles in Hildale, Utah, the fire department confirmed. The dead and missing are all mothers and small children. The youngest child being 4 years old.
The small community, known for following strict polygamist Mormon values, straddles the border between Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Arizona.
Most of the people who live in the community are members of the Warren Jeffs polygamist sect known as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS). Continue reading
