Pharrell Williams Blurred Lines Deposition Video Leaked

Here’s highlights from Pharrell Williams‘ deposition video taken as testimony for an infringement lawsuit leveled by the family of the late Marvin Gaye over their assertion the mega-producer and singer, Robin Thicke, knowingly violated copyright laws.

In March, a federal jury found Williams and Thicke liable for infringement to the tune of $5 million. The case is currently headed toward an appeal.

Rapper T.I. Owes $4.5 MILLION IN UNPAID TAXES

According to newly released documents, rapper T.I. and his wife, Tiny, owe a staggering $4.5 million in unpaid taxes.

The unpaid taxes occurred between 2012-2013, six years after the rapper bought a mansion in 2006 for $4.26 million dollars.

Judge Slashes Marvin Gaye Family Blurred Lines Judgement Over $2 Million

A judge on Tuesday slashed more than $2 million off a judgement awarded by a jury to the Marvin Gaye family back in March.

U.S. District Judge John A. Kronstadt ruled that Gaye’s family will be awarded a 50/50 share of future royalties for recordings and performances of Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams‘ smash hit “Blurred Lines.”

Judge Kronstadt said in a 56-page ruling, that the copyright infringement verdict a jury reached in March should be cut by just over $2M, from nearly $7.4 million to $5.3 million. Continue reading

JURY RULES: Robin Thicke Pharrell Owe Gaye Family $7.3MIL Over Blurred Lines

A jury decided in favor of Marvin Gaye‘s family ordering Robin Thicke and Pharrell to pay $7.3 million for copyright infringement over “Blurred Lines.”

The Gaye family sought over $25 million, however, the victory is still salient and significant.

In the trial, Marvin Gaye’s family argued that 2013’s “Blurred Lines” copied their father’s 1977 song “Got to Give Up,” and sued Thicke, Williams and Clifford Harris Jr., a.k.a. T.I. As if Will.i.am didn’t have enough on his plate, now the black-eyed peas’ frontman is suing fellow musician (and apparently former mate,) Pharrell over his Youtube channel! Which begs the question, why couldn’t this all have been solved with a simple phone call? These guys are supposed to be homies! Here’s the details..
