Disabled Man Facing Jail For Laughing Too Loudly In Home

Robert Schiavelli’s life is tough enough due to neurological problems and frequent seizures, but his neighbor was about to make it a living hell after phoning authorities and complaining that Robert was – laughing too loudly.

“I didn’t know it was a crime to laugh out a window,” said Schiavelli, 42, after receiving not one, but two different infractions for “disturbing the peace,” and if he doesn’t pony-up the dough, $250 to be exact, he will be forced to spend 15 days in jail, per ticket.

Schiavelli, who lives with his mother due to neurological problems and frequent seizures, says his next-door neighbor regularly teases him about being disabled,

“What are you supposed to do when someone calls you a retard?” Schiavelli asked the New York Post rhetorically.

Schiavelli had to hire an attorney who called the whole thing absurd, “My client faces 30 days in jail for laughing,” he said. “I will never let him take a plea on this.”

The judge who presided over Schiavelli’s arraignment yesterday said he was “not so inclined” to throw the charges out. A second court date has yet to be scheduled.

NFL Murder Suicide: Girlfriend Told Chiefs Player ‘YOU’RE NOT THE FATHER’ Before Shooting

Before Kansas City Chief’s player Jovan Belcher shot his girlfriend dead she told him he was not the father of their baby daughter.

Belecher’s mom, Cheryl Shepherd, from Long Island, said her son argued with his girlfriend over the paternity of their three-month-old daughter — right before the murder suicide — she witnessed at her son’s home in Missouri.

Belcher kissed her dying body and their baby daughter goodbye before he left to kill himself in front of KC coaching staff.

New York Post reports a source saying, “The mother believed that there was an issue over whether [Belcher] was the father. She said he believed he wasn’t necessarily the father of the child,” something that KC cops confirmed, “She told police there was a question about the paternity.”

DARK AGES: CON ED NO POWER UNTIL NOVEMBER 10

Con Ed, the folks strapped with restoring power to Manhattan and Brooklyn say that a majority of people, currently in the dark, will have no choice but to wait until Nov. 10.

NYPost:

Con Ed said today it’ll take until the weekend of Nov. 10 to restore power to a “vast majority” of its customers.

The company also says it’ll take until Saturday to restore power to lower Manhattan and other parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn served by underground wires.

Overhead wires are a bigger problem for the company. Con Ed says it is dealing with more than 100,000 downed wires.

Outside help is arriving — the utility says 1,600 contractors and utilty workers from as far away as California are being brought in to aid its power restoration efforts.

Power was restored to more than 100,000 Con Ed customers overnight, the company says.

That left about 650,000 Con Ed customers were without power as of 11 a.m.

Manhattan remained the worst-off area, with 228,000 Con Ed customers — mostly below 36th Street — still without power. That was about 10,000 fewer customers than yesterday.

Most of lower Manhattan’s power loss was caused by the flooding of Con Ed’s East 14th Street substation, where repair work is still under way.

Brooklyn’s power situation has improved dramatically, with 49,000 Con Ed customers reported without power this morning, down from 109,000 yesterday.

Elsewhere in the city, the count of powerless Con Ed customers was 94,000 in Queens, 73,000 in Staten Island and 37,000 in the Bronx.

About 164,000 Con Ed customers are without power in Westchester County, down about 10,000 from yesterday.

The company yesterday restored power to most of Brighton Beach and Coney Island in Brooklyn. It also restored power to 2,000 customers in its Cortland network in Manhattan, which serves the central part of the Financial District.

Con Ed says power to all customers in Manhattan and Brooklyn served by underground wires should also be restored by Friday or Saturday.

Customers served by overhead wires could wait a week or longer to get power back.

Power is also being restored slowly on Long Island. About 680,000 Long Island Power Authority customers were reported without power at noon, down more than 100,000 from yesterday.

In New Jersey, 1.8 million utility customers were without electricity today, down about 225,000 from yesterday.

MYSTERY ILLNESS STRIKES 50 NY TEENS At Halloween RAVE

A disturbing report of at least 50 teens becoming violently ill at a Halloween Rave party held on Long Island, NY.

NYPOST:

A Halloween-themed dance party at the Nassau Coliseum turned into a horror show when at least 50 underage revelers were hospitalized for booze and drug use, sources said.

The massive event, called the Haunted Coliseum, attracted thousands. It was shut down early after someone reported a sick teen at around 9:50 p.m., sources said.

The DJ’s screeched to a halt when dozens of police cars and ambulances rushed to the scene, sources said. Responders found dozens of young people passing out and throwing up, sources added.

I will update this post as soon as I learn more about the current condition of the teens.
