SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — An active shooter situation is playing out in San Luis Obispo County, California Friday.
Law enforcement responded in numbers to a report of an active shooter in Nipomo Friday morning.
The situation is unfolding in the parking lot of Vons on the 500 block of West Tefft Street.

Southbound Tefft Street off-ramp is closed due to the incident.
People are being urged to avoid this area.

COLUMBUS. OH. (THCOUNT) — Columbus police are reporting shots have been fired at officers and a man has barricaded himself inside a home near Eakin Road Monday afternoon.
According to police, a unidentified man is firing at officers in the area.
Columbus SWAT units and hostage negotiators are on scene, reports 10TV.
There is no information on any injuries at this time.
Avoid the area.

CONYERS, GA. (THECOUNT) — Multiple police agencies and ambulances were seen responding to Conyers, Georgia production plant, Dart Container, on Friday morning.
The large police and first responder presence was spotted in the parking lot of the foodservice manufacturer on Friday morning.
The business is located at, 1455 GA-138 in Conyers, GA.
The scene is in the jurisdiction of the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, reports WSB.
Rockdale County Schools confirm there are a few schools on lockdown due to the police activity.
The schools on lockdown are: Rockdale County High School, Rockdale Magnet School, CJ Hicks Elementary and transportation officers.

CHATTANOOGA, TN. (THECOUNT) — The University of Tennessee Chattanooga is sending an alert to students, warning them of a man walking toward campus with a rifle.
The University says “UTC Police and Chattanooga Police have received a report of and are actively searching for a white man with blond hair, reported to be wearing a tactical-style vest, carrying a rifle and walking on the east side of campus down W. 8th Street toward UTC. You’re urged to be aware of your surroundings and, if you see anything suspicious, call UTC Police at 423-425-4357.”

The University of Tennessee Chattanooga is sending an alert to students, warning them of a man walking toward campus with a rifle.
UTC says the campus is not on lock down right now since the man was seen off-campus, reports NewsChannel9.
A Chattanooga police spokesperson says they are actively trying to locate the suspect but have not been able to find him yet.

Northwestern University is requesting people shelter in place after a report of a person with a gun on campus.
The school also tweeted about the report, asking people to stay away from the area and to “shelter in a safe place and stay until further notice.”
University spokesman Jon Yates said Wednesday afternoon that the school had a report of a person with a gun in Engelhart Hall, a graduate student dormitory on the Evanston campus. Yates says Evanston and Northwestern University police are on the scene. Continue reading
A Metro police officer was shot during an ongoing standoff at the Tony Sudekum Apartments south of downtown Nashville.
According to officials, there is a barricaded subject firing shots from inside an apartment on Charles E. Davis Boulevard.

A Metrolink train traveling in Sun Valley, Ca., struck a box truck near San Fernando Boulevard, officials announced Tuesday.
The Los Angeles-bound train on the Antelope Valley line struck the truck, which was on the tracks, near Sunland Boulevard around 10:30 a.m.
The train is stopped on the tracks while the fire department determines whether passengers were injured, authorities said. Continue reading
Two teens have been shot at Independence High School in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale. Police say there is no continued threat to the rest of the campus.
Via baltimore.cbslocal: Glendale Officer Tracey Breeden told reporters Friday that she doesn’t know whether the victims at Independence High School are students. She didn’t discuss the conditions of the teens.

A man wielding a machete has been shot and killed by police after they say he went into a Mediterranean restaurant and began slicing several patrons.
The suspect then reportedly fled the Nazareth Restaurant, but was located by police about 5 miles away, a standoff ensued at which time the man was killed.

Four of the remaining Oregon occupiers holed up in the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge claim the FBI has somehow blocked their cell phones from placing outgoing calls, and incoming calls are being rerouted to the FBI.
One of the holdouts, David Fry, says he and three others hunkered down in the refuge, can no longer place outbound calls. Supporters who attempt to call Fry end up reaching the FBI instead. The internet, which the militia had been using for live video streaming, has also been interrupted.
At least 150 militia members, led by three sons of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, took control of the federal building in eastern Oregon early in January.
