CT Woman Sariah Miranda ID’d As Victim In Friday Manchester Fatal Motorcycle Crash

MANCHESTER, CT. (THECOUNT) — Sariah Isabelle Miranda, 21, of Manchester, Connecticut, died Friday night after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 384 East in Manchester, according to Connecticut State Police. Authorities said Miranda was riding as a passenger when the motorcycle struck the rear of an SUV before she was subsequently struck by another vehicle.

Manchester is located in Hartford County in north-central Connecticut, approximately 10 miles east of Hartford. Interstate 384 is a major connector roadway linking Manchester and surrounding communities with Interstate 84.

Connecticut State Police said the crash occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. Friday on I-384 East.

Investigators determined that a 22-year-old Manchester man was operating the motorcycle eastbound when it collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Equinox traveling ahead of the motorcycle.

Following the initial collision, both the motorcycle operator and Miranda became separated from the motorcycle and slid across the highway.

Authorities said Miranda was then struck by another vehicle while on the roadway. State police have not released additional information regarding the second vehicle involved in the incident.

Both Miranda and the motorcycle operator were transported to a local hospital by a third-party vehicle following the crash. Police said the motorcycle operator suffered minor injuries.

Miranda was transported with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Connecticut State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Authorities have not announced whether any charges are expected or released additional details regarding the involvement of the other vehicles.

The investigation remains ongoing.
