MORGAN COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Stevi Presley Cox, 46, has been identified as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash Monday in Morgan County, Alabama.
According to the Morgan County Coroner’s Office, Cox, of Rainbow City, died following the collision on Highway 67 near the Ryan community.
Morgan County emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving reports of the crash Monday.
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said the collision occurred on Highway 67 in the area of Ryan, an unincorporated community located in Morgan County.
Authorities said two vehicles were involved in the crash.
Cox was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.
Morgan County is located in north-central Alabama and includes the cities of Decatur and Hartselle. The county is part of the Decatur Metropolitan Area and serves as a transportation hub for residents traveling throughout the Tennessee Valley region.
Highway 67 is a major roadway in Morgan County, connecting communities across the region and providing access to residential, commercial, and agricultural areas. The route is frequently traveled by local residents and motorists moving between communities in northern Alabama.
Rainbow City, where Cox resided, is located in Etowah County in northeastern Alabama. The city is situated near Gadsden and is part of a region connected by a network of state and federal highways serving communities throughout eastern Alabama.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that its Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash.
Officials have not released additional details regarding the events leading up to the collision.
Authorities have also not disclosed whether other individuals involved in the crash suffered injuries.
No information regarding possible contributing factors has been released.
