PINSON, AL (THECOUNT) — Terron Brown, 38, was found dead from a gunshot wound after deputies responded Monday to a welfare check at a residence in Pinson, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities said deputies were dispatched to 8614 Old Highway 75 in Pinson on Feb. 2 for a welfare check. When deputies arrived at the location, they found Brown deceased from a gunshot wound.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Brown. Officials with the coroner’s office said they are investigating the case as a homicide in Pinson.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is investigating the deadly shooting. No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident were released.
Deputies were called to the residence specifically for a welfare check before discovering Brown’s body. Law enforcement did not indicate how the welfare check request originated or who contacted authorities.
Officials did not release information about any suspects, possible persons of interest, or whether anyone else was inside the residence at the time deputies arrived.
