CT Lawyer Jeff Gostyla ID’d As DUI Suspect Arrested In Sunday Farmington Hit-And-Run

HARTFORD COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Jeffrey Gostyla, of Avon, Connecticut, has been identified as the suspect arrested in a Sunday hit-and-run vehicle collision in Hartford County.

Jeff Gostyla, 54, a well known attorney at Hartford law firm Halloran Sage, was arrested for DUI and evading following a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday night in Farmington.

According to reports, Farmington police responded to a call of a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 84 near Exit 39 around 6 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, police learned that a third vehicle, a BMW X5, was also involved and fled the scene.

Farmington Police Department later identified the fleeing vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the BMW. Gostyla refused to stop and a police pursuit ensued.

Gostyla continued to drive and eventually arrived at his 14 Sturbridge Lane residence. Officers then observed him fleeing into the home.

Gostyla was apprehended a short time later and was subjected to field sobriety tests, which he refused. He was then placed under arrest and charged with driving under the influence, following too closely resulting in an accident, and evading responsibility.

Gostyla was released on a $1,500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear at Hartford Superior Court on March 6th, 2023.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the initial wreck.
