DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Michael Mitchell has been identified as the pedestrian in a Wednesday night fatal vehicle strike in Davidson County, Tennessee.
Mitchell, 70, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in nashville Wednesday night. The involved driver has been identified as Adam Lester.
According to reports, Mitchell was on-foot in the area of Lafayette Street and 4th Avenue South, when he was struck by a Volkswagen Golf operated by 34-year-old Lester around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The fatal collision occurred outside of a marked crosswalk.
Mitchell was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
Lester showed no signs of impairment, however, he was cited for not having proof of insurance.
