LA Man Lee Collins III Sought In Easter Chalmette Double-Fatal Shooting Of Female Relatives

CHALMETTE, LA. (THECOUNT) — Lee Collins III, 22, is wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of two women Sunday evening in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, according to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the incident unfolded around 7:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of Centanni Drive in Chalmette, a community located within St. Bernard Parish, just southeast of New Orleans. Deputies responded to reports of a disturbance at the location and, upon arrival, discovered two adult female victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, officials confirmed that both women later succumbed to their injuries. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities stated that Collins is believed to be a family member of the victims, though specific details regarding the relationship have not been publicly disclosed.

According to the sheriff’s office, Collins fled the scene on foot following the shooting. Deputies further reported that he is believed to have stolen a white 2019 Ford stake-bed truck bearing Louisiana license plate Z258037.

Law enforcement has issued an arrest warrant charging Collins with two counts of second-degree murder.

The search for Collins remains ongoing as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Deputies have not released additional details regarding a possible motive.

Officials are urging anyone with information on Collins’ whereabouts to contact the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office immediately. Residents in the area are advised to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.

Centanni Drive is a residential area within Chalmette, part of the greater New Orleans metropolitan region. The parish, which borders the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico, is home to approximately 45,000 residents and is served by a parish-wide law enforcement agency.
