LA PORTE COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Angela Oehmen, 36, and her son, Joseph Oehman, 14, of Wanatah, Indiana, have been identified as the victims in a Tuesday double-fatal vehicle crash in La Porte County.

Angela, 36, and her 14-year-old son, Joey, were both killed in a vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning near Wanatah.

According to reports, Angela was operating a vehicle on US-30 near Wanatah, when the vehicle was struck by a trailer that had come detached from the semi around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday.

The mother and son were pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.

A second teenage passenger, Jacob Oehmen, was transported to an area hospital with unknown upper body injuries.

The semi driver was uninjured in the wreck.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
