LUCAS COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Patience Renee Chaney, of Lorain, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Friday vehicle crash in Lucas County.
Chaney, 45, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Swanson Friday night.
According to reports, Chaney was operating a KIA Optima on US-20 near Turtle Creek Drive in Swanton, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 10:30 p.m. Friday. The vehicle then came into contact with a Lincoln Navigator operated by 28-year-old Joshua Wheeler, of Swanton.
Chaney was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
It is unknown if Wheeler suffered any injuries in the wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
