BIBB COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Ronnie Joe Albea, of Augusta, Georgia, has been identified as the victim shot dead Friday night in an apparent attempted robbery in Bibb County.
Albea, 41, was fatally shot at a Macon Walmart in an attempted carjacking in Macon Friday night.
According to reports, Albea and his fiancé were in the parking lot area of the Walmart Supercenter on Harrison Road in Macon, when he was approached by two men demanding his car keys. Albea refused and a fight ensued. During the fight Albea was shot in the chest.
Albea was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
Investigators say they are seeking two suspects described as a tall and slender man, and a short and heavyset man. Both are believed to be in their early 20s.
