LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — Shocking video has emerged from Japanese television showing a violent Will Smith attack Chris Rock as he told jokes and presented an award for Best Documentary at the Oscars.

In what appears to be a moment entirely not scripted, Will Smith then got out of his seat and took to the stage, slapping Rock before returning to his seat.
