NEW YORK, NY. (THECOUNT) — Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain incarcerated until February 20, 2028, after the Federal Bureau of Prisons pushed back his release date following a recent altercation behind bars, according to prison records.
The embattled hip-hop mogul’s exit from federal custody has shifted multiple times in recent months. His release was originally scheduled for summer before advancing to April, then February, then January — only to revert to February again, authorities confirmed.
The January release date had been set even after Combs was placed in solitary confinement following a physical confrontation with another inmate. Federal officials have not disclosed specific reasons for the latest schedule change or for the previous series of date adjustments.
Combs, 56, is serving a 50-month sentence handed down in October 2025 after a jury convicted him on two prostitution-related charges. The Brooklyn-born entrepreneur and Bad Boy Records founder has been housed in a federal correctional facility since his sentencing.
The Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where Combs has been held, is located in the Sunset Park neighborhood along the Brooklyn waterfront, approximately 11 miles southeast of Manhattan.
Federal Bureau of Prisons spokespersons did not immediately respond to inquiries regarding whether the date modification stems from disciplinary action, good-time credit adjustments, or administrative processing.
The release date fluctuations mark the latest chapter in Combs’ legal troubles, which have drawn national attention since his arrest and subsequent trial. The Grammy-winning producer and businessman was found guilty following a high-profile prosecution that examined his conduct during organized gatherings in New York and Miami.
