JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Nia Peoples, of Birmingham, Alabama, has been identified as the victim found dead at a Jefferson County home on Tuesday.

Peoples, 30, was found deceased in the front yard area of a home in Birmingham Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the homeowner of a residence in the 1600 block of 8th Avenue West in Birmingham, contacted police after discovering a body in the front yard area of the home Tuesday around 7:30 a.m.

The body was later identified as homicide victim Peoples.

Peoples was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:56 a.m. of apparent gunshot injuries.
